What a half-day in Cascais actually looks like
Cascais is the part of the coast you can do without it eating the whole day. The town, the cliffs and the beaches are a short drive apart, so a half-day is enough to see the sea, walk the marina, and still have the morning or the afternoon for something else. The order is what makes it flow — and that’s the part we handle.
Cascais marina & old town
A working harbour with the old fishing town behind it — tiled façades, a few squares, and the small museum-houses the wealthy built when this became the coast Lisbon came to. A good place to walk, sit by the water, and not rush.
Boca do Inferno
A short walk from the centre: the sea has cut clean through the cliff and on a day with any swell it breaks up through the gap with real force. Five minutes, a few photos, and you’ve seen why they named it the Hell’s Mouth.
Praia do Guincho
The wild one. Open Atlantic, dunes, and the wind the surfers and kitesurfers come for, with the Sintra hills rising behind the beach. It’s a different coast from the sheltered bay in town — and it’s on the road up toward Sintra, which is why the two pair so easily.
Estoril & the coast road
The seafront that runs back toward Lisbon — the casino, the line of grand old villas, and the marginal road along the water. An easy, low-effort stretch to end on before heading back into the city.
How long do you need in Cascais?
Half a day. Cascais is compact — the town, Boca do Inferno and Guincho are minutes apart, so four hours is enough to see the coast properly without padding it out. It’s the kind of half-day that pairs naturally with something else.
The most common way people do it is as the afternoon half of a full day in Sintra: palaces in the morning, Cabo da Roca, then down the coast into Cascais before heading back to Lisbon. If you only want the coast, a half-day on its own works just as well — 30 minutes each way from Lisbon, the open Guincho road quiet under you with no engine drone, in the Tesla.

How much does it cost?
Price is per group, per duration — not per person, and not per destination. A half day (4 hours) is €300 for 1–4, €350 for 5–6, €400 for 7–10; a full day is €600 / €700 / €800. You choose the stops inside that time. The exact total goes in the plan we send within 24 hours.

Do you pick up at my hotel in Lisbon?
Yes. We pick you up at your hotel or address in Lisbon and bring you back at the end. Cascais is about 30 minutes each way along the coast.

Is Cascais worth a half-day on its own, or should I add Sintra?
Both work. The coast — the marina, Boca do Inferno, Guincho — is a comfortable half-day on its own if you just want sea air and a slower afternoon. But the most common day is Sintra in the morning and Cascais in the afternoon, linked by Cabo da Roca, since the two are a short drive apart. Add both when you build your tour and we’ll pace the day.

Can we stop at the beach? Is there time to swim?
Yes, if that’s what you want from the day — tell us when you build the tour and we’ll build the time in. Guincho is the wild surf beach; the bay beaches in town are calmer and easier for a quick swim. It’s your day to shape, so the beach time is your call to make.

What if it rains, or someone in my group gets sick?
Reschedule for free if we agree at least 24 hours before pickup. The 25% reservation fee follows this policy: more than 48h before pickup, the fee is refunded in full; 24 to 48h before, half the fee is retained; less than 24h with no valid reason, the fee is retained in full.
